Rage 2 Gameplay Footage

Oh, what a day to be a maniacal, chaos-loving FPS fan.

QuakeCon 2018 is in full swing, and if the Doom Eternal gameplay footage wasn’t mental enough for you, then turn your attention to the Rage 2 gameplay footage below.

Rage 2 is the post-apocalyptic open world sequel to 2011’s RAGE and if this footage is anything to go by, it’s going to turn you into Mad Max on steroids.

The video reveals that the gorgeous looking open world of Rage 2 will be completely free of load screens (hallelujah) and that the game will take place 30 years after the events of the first game “on an Earth that’s begun to recover from a global catastrophe”. The demo shows several enemy factions in the game including the Goon Squad and The Authority, and that each of these warring factions will have their own distinctive combat style. The demo also shows some of the vehicles on offer and an adrenaline-fueled car chase across a desert that is straight out of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Later on in the video, we watch the player character assaulting the Eden Space Centre, where we see footage of the endlessly fun-looking Slam and Overdrive abilities. Also shown is the new-and improved Wingstick—a returning fan favourite from the first game—which effectively acts as a boomerang of death.

You can find the gameplay footage below. I’m off for a lie down, I’m all mentalled-out for one day.
