The Division 2’s first raid launches on Thursday 25th April

The Division 2’s first raid, Operation Dark Hours, will launch on Thursday 25th April.

That information comes by the way of a new Year 1 Update video that has been released as part of the beginning of the Invasion: Battle for D.C. in-game event. Invasion: Battle for D.C. starts tomorrow with the introduction of the first new Stronghold, Tidal Basin, which will be added as part of an update that will also introduce two new exotic weapons, three new gear sets, a new PvP map called Fort McNair, and kick off the games first apparel event.

Then, on Thursday 25th April, the series first ever 8-player raid will be added to the game. It’s called Operation Dark Hours, and from the few brief clips that were shown in the video it looks as though it’s going to be set in one of Washington D.C.’s airports. No real details were given, but Massive do say that you’ll need to gear up and get yourself a coordinated team if you want to take it on. That update will also add Classified Assignments for Year 1 Pass holders.

The video also teases the introduction of the fourth Specialization, which is simply marked as “coming soon”. Again, no details were given, but there is a brief clip of somebody holding a freaking mini-gun, which is pretty badass.

I can’t wait to see how Massive implements raids into The Division 2, it seems like a franchise that would lend itself perfectly to some big, challenging, 8-player content. I can’t wait to see how it plays when Operation Dark Hours launches on all platforms on Thursday 25th April.
