Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice tops the UK sales chart this week

To absolutely nobodies surprise, the newly released Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, from the makers of Dark Souls, hops into the number one spot this week, pushing The Division 2 to the number 2 spot in the UK’s physical sales chart. The sales were “close” between Sekiro and The Division 2 this week according to Chart-Track, the sales monitor behind the UK sales chart numbers.

Sekiro has received an extremely strong critical reception since its release, securing an impressive 90 on Metacritic, 9.5 over at IGN, and 9 (currently) by GameSpot. This has, of course, helped with sales and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice appear in the top 3 again next week.

Elsewhere, we see an array of games that have been gracing the chart for many months now, including FIFA 19 (3rd), GTA V (4th) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (5th). We also see the reappearance of Forza Horizon 4 and say farewell to the chart-topping Devil May Cry 5. Further down the chart, Battlefield V has re-entered in position 18 which is almost certainly due to the advertising campaign for the upcoming Firestorm update, which introduces a battle royale game mode into the game.

You can view the full sales chart below, but do bear in mind that the chart only includes physical sales numbers, not digital sales:

Position Game
1 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
2 Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
3 FIFA 19
4 Grand Theft Auto V
5 Red Dead Redemption 2
6 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
7 The Lego Movie 2 Video Game
8 Forza Horizon 4
9 Far Cry: New Dawn
10 New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
