Black Ops 4’s premium maps are free-to-play this weekend

Treyarch are being generous this week, offering all players the chance to check out the games Black Ops Pass multiplayer maps completely free of charge.

That means that from now until 6pm GMT/1pm ET/10am PT on Monday 18th March, all players will have access to the four new multiplayer maps that have been added to the game so far via the Black Ops Pass, namely Casino, Elevation, Lockup, and Madagascar. If that wasn’t enough for you then you’ll also rank up twice as quick, as Treyarch has also activated double XP in multiplayer and Zombies, double Merits in Blackout, and 2x tier progression on the Black Market for the same time period.

So, what is all of this in aid of? Well, maybe Treyarch are just feeling generous, but the cynic inside me can’t help but think it’s to try and tempt people away from The Division 2, which launched today. I can tell you one thing for sure – it won’t be keeping us away from it.

This weekends shenanigans carry on the games seasonal Shamrock & Awe event, which has so far added a new game mode to multiplayer, a new map variant, and seasonal changes to the Blackout map. There have also been a number of bug fixes and stability improvements to go with these changes, and you can read the full details here.

Free access to the maps and double XP are now available on all platforms, and it’ll give you a good chance to check out whether the Black Ops Pass is worth your money or not.
