The duo of freebies that will be available to PS Plus subscribers in September has been announced, and there’s a definite third-person theme.
The standout title of the two is undoubtedly Rocksteady Studio’s Batman: Arkham Knight, the 2015 finale to the fantastic Arkham trilogy which sees the caped crusader going up against arch enemies such as Scarecrow, Two-Face, The Penguin, and Harley Quinn. The game is notable for introducing the Batmobile to the series, although I still personally feel that it was one of the weakest parts of the game. If you haven’t played the Arkham series before then I strongly suggest that you pick up the first two games—Arkham Asylum and Arkham City—for cheap and then grab this third installment for free so that you can enjoy this revolutionary series and its fantastic combat system.
If you’re more into your hack-and-slash games then Gunfire Games’ Darksiders 3, which only released less than a year ago, will also be available to download for the total price of naff all. Darksiders 3 puts players in control of Fury, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and tasks them with hunting down the Seven Deadly Sins. Darksiders 3 received pretty mixed reviews when it hit shelves back in November of last year, but it’s free, so why not give it a go?
Both games will be available to download for free from the PlayStation Store between Tuesday 3rd September and Monday 30th September. Don’t forget that you can still download August’s offerings—WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4—until Monday 2nd September.
Happy freebie-grabbing.
