The Epic Game Store has followed in the footsteps of Steam and launched it’s very own Summer Sale. The Epic Mega Sale, as it’s known, will not only include big savings across it’s ever expanding catalogue of titles, but will also be handing out a free game every week until it’s conclusion next month, as opposed to the free game that was previously offered every two weeks.
Discounts of up to 75% are currently on offer, with an additional £10 saving off of every game previously priced at £13.99 or more. Epic has stated that this discount is on them, which is obviously great news for developers.
Some of my personal favorite games on The Epic Games Store – that are currently on offer – include the awesome rogue-like Hades, down from £15.49 to £5.49. Hades is currently in early access and is currently only available on the Epic Store. It’s recently had yet another major update which has added a brand new Act. You can check out my review of Hades here, I highly recommend giving it a go, especially for his price!
Another game worth mentioning is Shakedown Hawaii. If you’re familiar with our podcast then you’ve probably heard Ricky salivating over it. The game released a couple of weeks ago to decent reviews, so picking it up for under a fiver at £4.99 seems like a no brainer.
Finally, let me give a shout out to pre-purchase titles; John Wick Hex and Afterparty. The former can be pre-purchased for £4.39, down from £15.99, with the latter available for £5.99, down from the same original price. Now, I have no idea if these two titles are any good, but from what I’ve seen and read they are both worth taking a chance on during the sale.
If that wasn’t a sweet enough deal, the Epic Mega Sale will also be gifting it’s users a free game every week, starting with Stories Untold which is available now until Thursday 30th May. RiME will be next weeks free offering, which is available from Thursday 23rd May until Thursday 30th May.
If you happened to purchase any on-sale title between 2nd and 15th May, Epic will also refund you the difference in price between then and the sale price. This is similar to their normal pricing policy, where refunds are given if a game is reduced in price by the developer within a certain period of time.
Picking up anything in the sale? Let us know what in the comments section below. Remember you have until June 13th to pick up a bargain, and don’t forget to download your free weekly game until the sale concludes.
