Summer is here, bringing with it glorious sunshine, soaring temperatures, and brighter nights. What better way to celebrate the fact than to play a game focused around some extreme winter sports?
Okay, so that may not be the most appropriate game to be playing right now weather wise, but what if I told you that you could get one for absolutely nothing? Well, that’s exactly what I’m here to tell you, as Ubisoft’s Steep is currently free to download and keep for PC through Uplay until 11pm on Tuesday 21st May.
Steep is an online-focused open-world sports game set in the Alps where players can compete in events and perform stunts, partaking in skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, and wingsuit flying. It originally released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One at the end of 2016 to pretty decent reviews, mostly picking up 7’s and 8’s across the board, with particular praise being aimed at the game’s graphics, open world, and fun activities.
To download the game, simply head on over to the Ubisoft website and sign up for Uplay (if you don’t already have an account) and then you can claim your freebie, but remember that you must act before 11pm on Tuesday 21st May. It may now be a little over two years old but there is still plenty of fun to be had on Steep, particularly with a group of friends, and it’s well worth checking out when you can get it for the grand price of bugger all. To put that into perspective, the game is currently still retailing at £25.99 on Steam. Remember, this is for the PC version only – sorry, console players.
