Digital Extremes has announced that Warframe’s massive Venus-based Fortuna expansion will finally arrive on the Nintendo Switch tomorrow, Tuesday 5th February.
The Switch release will land three months after the expansions arrival on PC and two months after its arrival on Xbox One and PS4. It’s been a long wait for Warframe’s Nintendo Switch player base—who always get Warframe content last—but the wait for the excellent expansion will most definitely be worth it.
The update opens up the massive open-world area Orb Vallis on the snow-covered surface of Venus, and there’s also a market area called Fortuna which acts as a main trading and social area and looks like a city pulled straight out of Blade Runner. The update adds all sorts of new features to Digital Extremes free-to-play monster, such as new quests, enemies, weapons, and the K-Drive hoverboard, which can be used to traverse the snowy-plains of Venus faster. You can also customise the appearance of your K-Drive and you can even perform tricks and race them.
This news comes just a week after Xbox and PS4 players got The Profit Taker, the latest content update for the Fortuna expansion which launched on the PC in December. As far as we can tell The Profit Taker update won’t be included when Fortuna launches on the Switch tomorrow, but we’ll keep you updated when more details on a Switch release become available.
