Ever since it was announced that Telltale Games was closing its doors, the main question on everyone’s minds was whether or not The Walking Dead’s final two episodes would ever see the light of day.
Luckily then, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s own Skybound Games have stepped in to save the day and make sure that Clem’s story is finalised. Speaking on Twitter, Skybound said “We’re SO happy to announce that we’ve reached a deal with @telltalegames that will allow Skybound to continue #TheWalkingDead: The Final Season! Let’s wrap up Clem’s story right!”

A further statement from Skybound confirmed that they will be working with members of the original The Walking Dead team to tie up Clem’s story, with their statement reading “Skybound will work with members of the original Telltale team to finish the story in a way the fans deserve,”.
The news follows Robert Kirkman’s own hints at New York ComicCon Q&A session on Thursday when he said “Just stay tuned. Everybody involved is trying to make sure Clementine’s story is told. It’s a very unfortunate situation, but hopefully we will come out of it in some kind of positive way. I am not concerned at the moment with having to tell the story in comic book form because I’m hoping that the games will eventually be completed.” It’s almost like he knew something.
This is great news for fans of the game. It was devastating to think that after playing through four seasons we were never going to get a conclusion. And now, at least those members of the Telltale team will get a chance to finish the story that they started six years ago.
