Santa visits Fortnite in Season 7 and Battle Pass details revealed

Fortnite Season 7 starts today and brings with it some festive cheer (and destruction). Father Christmas makes an appearance after apparently spending the whole year at the gym (he’s ripped AF), there are Christmas trees, new locationsincluding Polar Peak, Frosty Flights and Happy Hamlet— and you’ll find zip-lines dotted around the island to help you get around quicker, especially in the mountainous areas.

Sticking with the winter theme, there’s also snow and ice. Tilted Towers has had the snow treatment, but be careful, the ice is slippery…

There’s also a new vehicle, the ‘X-4 Stormwing plane’, whichas indicated by the namewill see you flying around the map quicker than ever. It’s also fully kitted out with a mounted machine gun and space for your squad (5 players total).

You can watch the season 7 trailer below:

The Season 7 Battle Pass will include mostly more of the same. There will be new skins as well as new pets and vehicles, there will also be new ‘Wraps’, which are basically skins for your weapons and vehicles. The legendary skin this season is a scary looking Ice King which will come in various colours; it actually looks like a character straight out of Destiny.

The Battle Pass trailer is below:

As well as the start of Season 7 and the new Battle Pass, this update also brings with it the Creative Mode which was officially announced yesterday, Battle Pass owners will be able to play the Creative Mode right away, but anyone else will have to wait a week to try it out. The announcement trailer for Creative Mode is below:

There are a few other changes to the game as well, such as an increased chance of the final circle landing at the edge of the map and a re-working of the Balloons. When you have a Balloon equipped, you’ll now be able to use weapons and items, and you’ll also be able to attach up to a maximum of three balloons to your back, but it’s important to note that you’ll only lift from the ground after the third Balloon is attached. To release the Balloons, you simply have to jump while you’re in the air, each jump will release one balloon so you can glide down to the ground safely. The stack size for Balloons has also been reduced to 10, down from 20.

That’s about all of the major changes in this update, of course there have also been some performance improvements and some minor alterations to the game, all of which can be found on the Epic website here.
