Rocket League is getting a Stranger Things crossover event for Halloween

Rocket League is the latest game to announce a Halloween-themed event, and the vehicular football game is teaming up with Netflix’s award-winning series Stranger Things.

The games Haunted Hallows event will run from Monday 14th October until Monday 11th November, during which time players will be able to earn Candy Corn which can then be used to buy autumn-inspired items from the Haunted Hallows Event Store. Items that are up for grabs will include a Stranger Things Boost, Hawaiian Hopper Decal, Spider Boogie Decal, Starcourt Wheels, and Timbertyre Wheels. Although the event will finish on Monday 11th November, you’ll still be able to spend your Candy Corn credits for an extra three days once the event is over. As well as the goodies that are up for grabs, the Farmstead Arena is also getting a Stranger Things makeover to make it look like The Upside Down, the series frightful alternate universe, and it will be watched over by the “maddening” Mind Flayer.

Aside from the Halloween event, the update will also be making some quality-of-life changes. These include a post-game party-up feature which will allow you to easily team up with players who you met in an online match, team-colored boost meters which will make it easier to see what colour team you’re on at the start of a game, a Quickplay button which will allow you to immediately start searching for a game in the last playlist you joined, and a revamped news panel.
