Overcooked and Edith Finch free to PS Plus subscribers in May

Mays free offerings for PlayStation Plus subscribers have been announced, and they’re both top notch.

The first is Overcooked, the cooking sim from Ghost Town Games. Released back in 2016, Overcooked is a “chaotic couch co-op cooking game for one to four players”, where “you and your fellow chefs must prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders before the baying customers storm out in a huff.” While it can be played on your own, Overcooked is most definitely best experienced in multiplayer with your friends, which can lead to some hilarious moments. If you enjoy Overcooked then don’t forget that you can get last years sequel, Overcooked 2, for just £13.99 on the PlayStation Store.

The second free offering for May is Giant Sparrow’s fantastic narrative adventure game What Remains of Edith Finch, which picked up rave reviews when it released back in 2017 and recently re-entered the spotlight when it was a free offering on the Epic Game Store. In What Remains of Edith Finch, players search through the abandoned Finch family home, completing mini-games to piece together the family history and learn about each family members death. What Remains of Edith Finch is a beautiful game with some incredible storytelling and deserves every accolade that it was given, so I strongly suggest that you check it out, as I truly think it’s a game that everybody should experience. It can be completed in around four hours, so it won’t take up too much of your time.

Both of these games will become available from Tuesday 7th May, and don’t forget that you can still download last months offerings—Conan Exiles and The Surge—until that same date.
