Ghost Recon Wildlands gets two new missions tomorrow

Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting a free update tomorrow, adding two new missions to the game.

The two new missions will both be part of a new story called Operation Oracle, which will “plunge you headfirst into a scenario that will challenge your perception of the truth”. In Operation Oracle, players will be contacted by Bowman and instructed to extract a Skell Tech engineer who has knowledge of sensitive US industrial secrets, but has unfortunately fallen into Unidad custody. Ubisoft has brought in some star power to support the new content, as Jon Bernthal—best known as The Punisher and Shane from The Walking Dead—will appear in the role of Major Cole D. Walker, a “fellow Ghost Team Leader with his own agenda”.

To both celebrate the new content and to hopefully entice some new players to the game, Ubisoft is also holding another free weekend for the game this week. The free weekend will begin on Thursday 2nd May, which is the same day that the new update drops, and will run through until Sunday 5th May on all platforms. If you want to buy the game once the free weekend is over then all progress made during the free period will be carried over to the full game, and all editions of the game (Standard Edition/Gold Year 2 Edition/Ultimate Edition) will be 70% off for a limited time. The start times for the free weekend vary for each region, but you can check them out here.

The update will also add a whole host of bug fixes and general improvements, and you can read all about them here.
