Luigi’s Mansion 3 will release on Halloween

Luigi’s Mansion 3 will launch on Thursday 31st October, Nintendo has announced. Indeed, that does in fact mean that Luigi’s Mansion 3 will, rather suitably, launch on Halloween. It’s almost as if somebody planned it that way.

Much like previous entries in the series, Luigi’s Mansion 3 will feature Mario’s green-based brother armed with his trusty Poltergust vacuum going toe to toe with all sorts of ghouls and ghosts, this time in a haunted hotel. If you’ve been following the game closely since it was announced earlier this year then you’ll already know that the game looks fantastic. If you’re only just hearing about it or haven’t been paying any attention then what the hell is wrong with you? Check out the gameplay shown at E3 below to get yourself up to speed:

The release date of Luigi’s Mansion 3 means that both the newly-announced revised model of the standard Nintendo Switch, which features an extended battery life, and the recently-announced Nintendo Switch Lite will both be out in the market before Luigi’s latest caper hits the shelves, so even if you’re now holding out on purchasing a Switch while you await a particular model you won’t miss the release date for Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Whichever model of the Switch you plan on playing on, Luigi’s Mansion 3 looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to have even more reason to lock myself indoors, close my curtains, turn the lights off, and hide away from trick or treaters this Halloween. I’m not a grumpy old man, honest.
