Just Cause and three Castlevania titles added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list

Four more titles have been added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list, and Castlevania fans are sure to be delighted about it.

Three, yes three, Castlevania titles have been added to the list. The first of these games is 2010’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which acted as a reboot of the franchise and was very well received upon release. It’s direct sequels—Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2—are the other titles that make the list, meaning the entire Lords of Shadow series is now backwards compatible. Both of these games, released in 2013 and 2014 respectively, struggled to build upon the success of the first game, with both receiving relatively mixed reviews.

It’s not all about Castlevania though, as the original Just Cause—which was, unbelievably, originally released all the way back in 2006—has also been added to the list. Just Cause was massively hyped in the build-up to its release but didn’t quite live up to it, managing only slightly above average reviews, but it’s still great fun to play at times. Managing to do the opposite of what Castlevania did, the Just Cause series got better as it went along, spawning two very successful sequels titled Just Cause 2 and Just Cause 3 (don’t know how they thought those titles up) with Just Cause 4 scheduled for release in December.

If you already own these games and are itching to give them another go but you can’t be arsed to get into the loft and dust off the 360 then this will be news to your ears. If you don’t already own them, then now could be a good time to try and pick up a cheap copy if you fancy giving them a go.
