Just Cause 4 is getting an Expansion Pass

Square Enix has announced that Just Cause 4 will be getting an Expansion Pass that will give players access to all three planned content packs that will be coming to the game in 2019. Yes, that’s right, yet another game that is advertising expansions before the full bloody game is released.

Anyway, I’m here to provide information, so that’s what I’ll do. The first of these packs will be Dare Devils, which will task our protagonist Rico with defeating gang members in “death races and rampage rallies”. The second pack, Demons, will see things take a supernatural turn, as an ancient demonic force threatens the residents of Solis. Finally, the third piece of post-launch content, Danger, will see the arrival of Rico’s former employer and will introduce all kinds of new technology, weaponry and gadgets to the game. Here’s the Expansion Pass teaser trailer which, inexplicably, seems to give the expansions different names to those listed in the press release.

The expansion pass can be purchased separately from the base game or, alternatively, will be included in the Gold Edition of the game. The Gold Edition will also give you access to these content packs a week early and will let you play the game a day early. Not that they’re trying to get you to spend extra money or anything.

Promoting downloadable content before the game is even launched, encouraging people to spend more money just to play it slightly earlier, am I the only person that’s getting sick of this stuff?

Just Cause 4 will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on December 4th.
