GameCube style controllers to come to Nintendo Switch in time for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

It’s hard getting used to new controllers, we’ve all had to do it plenty of times throughout our lives, it’s like having to learn to drive a car all over again. Some games just feel right on certain controllers, and Super Smash Bros. Melee felt perfect on a GameCube controller.

With that in mind, and looking forward to the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Nintendo Switch later this year, accessory developer PDP is getting ready to bring out a new design of Pro Controllers for the Switch, based on the classic GameCube design, and they look beautiful.

The controllers will come with one, small, welcome piece of customization. The right analog stick will be completely detachable, allowing you to either play with a full, normal sized analog stick (such as the one found on the left-hand side of the controller) or the famous yellow ‘C’ stick from the original GameCube controller. We know which one we’ll be using.

The controllers are scheduled to launch later this year, hopefully just in time for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
