Fortnite’s v6.22 Patch adds Team Terror

The latest Fortnite update is now live, and it has added a new time-limited mode known as Team Terror.

In Team Terror, two teams of 32 players (that’s 64 players total – quick maths) do battle, with a team being declared the victor once the other team has been eliminated. You won’t just have human-controlled players to worry about though, as the Cube Monsters that were recently introduced as part of Fortnitemares will be involved too. Monster spawners are scattered throughout the map and also appear each time the storm closes into a new circle, and the Monsters will drop weapons or extra ammo when destroyed. There is extra floor loot and extra ammo to make up for the fact that you have more than one enemy to worry about, with ammo boxes spawning triple ammo and chests spawning double ammo and consumables.

In other time-limited mode related news, Blitz is being reintroduced to the game. Blitz is a faster-paced version of Battle Royale designed to intrigue the impatient players among us, where the storm is already closing in right from the start of the match and it continues to close at a faster rate than usual. The maximum match length in Blitz is 15 minutes, so there’s always time for that “one more game”.

Elsewhere in the update, there’s a new Heavy Assault Rifle and the Pumpkin Launcher has been reverted back to the standard Rocket Launcher now that Halloween is over. For football fans—and by football, I mean egg-based fake football—there’s also some NFL-themed skins coming on November 9th which will enable you to choose an outfit from any of the 32 NFL teams.
