Fortnite and more getting mouse and keyboard support on the Xbox One

It wasn’t long ago that Microsoft first announced that they were adding mouse and keyboard support to the Xbox One, and now, Microsoft has announced the first batch of games that will be making use of the new feature and, unsurprisingly, Fortnite is the first game to get on board.

The full list of games that will be adding mouse and keyboard support this month are listed below:

  • Fortnite
  • Bomber Crew
  • Deep Rock Galactic
  • Strange Brigade
  • Vermintide 2
  • War Thunder
  • X-Morph Defense

Epic games has said that mouse and keyboard support on the Xbox One will be implemented this week in the upcoming patch.

It’s important to note here that if you do use a keyboard and mouse while playing Fortnite, you will be matched with other players that are also using Keyboard and Mouse, including PC players. This is similar to how it currently works on the PS4, which has, of course, had mouse and keyboard support since last year.

It will be interesting to see how other multiplayer games implement mouse and keyboard support, considering that not all games are cross-platform, so the ability of simply pairing mouse and keyboard players with PC players isn’t an option. I would expect that these games just wouldn’t support it at all.

Microsoft also announced some more games that will support mouse and keyboard at some point in the future, but there are currently no ETA’s on these games, which are listed below:

  • Children of Morta
  • DayZ
  • Minion Master
  • Moonlighter
  • Vigor
  • Warface
  • Wargroove

This announcement was made at the XO18 event last week.
