Fans have been calling for its return for quite some time, and today EA has answered those calls by confirming that a FIFA Street-style game mode called Volta Football will be included in the latest FIFA title.
“EA SPORTS VOLTA takes football back to the streets with the authentic culture, creativity and style of the small-sided game.”
Check out the official reveal trailer for VOLTA Football below:
Volta Football will see players take to street courts and underground arenas of various sizes and locations for some 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 action, both with and without keepers. Professional futstal will also be playable, and to keep things authentic these games will be played on hard courts with a smaller sized football with 5 players per side.
Don’t be fooled into thinking Volta Football is just some half-arsed addition though, as Volta will feature a single-player career which is part multiplayer and includes a story mode. League play will also feature and includes promotion and relegation.
You can expect to be able to personalize and customize various aspect of the game, with player customization featuring all the usual stuff—shirts, shorts, socks, boots—and vanity items will be available to unlock. We’re hoping and praying that this includes Edgar Davids legendary glasses.
EA has confirmed that FIFA 20 will release September 27, with various editions available to pre-order now.
