As Celeste approaches its first birthday the popular indie platformer is getting some DLC. Even better, it’s going to be free on all platforms!
The news comes by way of a tweet from the games creator Matt Thornson, who also apologised for the fact that the DLC will, unfortunately, not be ready in time for the games first anniversary on January 25th.
Some Celeste DLC Chapter details:
-It won’t be ready for the anniversary on Jan 25th, sorry!
-It’s all one continuous chapter, no B-Side
-It’s after the current hardest levels in difficulty
-There are some new items/mechanics
-Free on all platforms

The DLC will consist of one chapter and it will be harder than the current hardest difficulty level (as if it wasn’t hard enough already). As you can see, it will feature new items and game mechanics, but there will be no collectible strawberries like there are in the main game. Of course, the most important detail in the tweet is that the DLC will be free on all platforms, namely Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. An important point of note for Xbox One owners is that Celeste is currently available to download for free with Games with Gold until January 31st, so get it downloaded and you’ll soon be the proud owner of all Celeste content without having spent a penny.
Celeste met with rave reviews when it released last January and was widely regarded as one of the best games of 2018. I strongly suggest you check it out if you haven’t done so already.
