Brace Yourself Games’ rhythmic Zelda-and-Crypt-of-the-NecroDancer-mashup game Cadence of Hyrule has received a new update today, adding a new storyline to the game.
The new storyline is focused around the game’s main villain Octavo, who will be unlocked as a playable character as part of the update. The storyline is called ‘Octavo’s Ode’, and playing through it will allow players to “discover Octavo’s true intentions for taking over Hyrule”. The update also adds a Dungeon mode for players who want to “test your mettle in this challenging new mode where you’ll face the toughest foes”. The best thing is that you won’t need to pay for any of it, as it’s absolutely free! Simply update the games software on your Switch and you’ll be good to go as long as you’ve completed the main game.

Cadence of Hyrule mixes Crypt of the NecroDancer’s rhythm-based gameplay with the settings, characters, and music from The Legend of Zelda series. The game was very well received when it launched back in June of this year and picked up a number of award nominations along the way. If you haven’t played it already then you can pick it up for £22.49 on the Nintendo store.
Cadence of Hyrule’s free update is available right now on Nintendo Switch.
