Bomberman R and Bloodstained headline February’s Games with Gold

Microsoft has announced the Games with Gold lineup for February, and there’s some decent freebies on offer.

The first of the Xbox One offerings is Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, the well received 8-bit metroidvania game led by Koji Igarashi, who is best known for his work on the Castlevania series during his time at Konami. That Castlevania inspiration is visible throughout Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which was released as a bonus precursor to the upcoming, kickstarter-funded, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Curse of the Moon will be available to download free of charge for the entire month of February.

Continuing the Konami theme, the second Xbox One freebie is Konami’s own Super Bomberman R, the 2018 Xbox One port of the Nintendo Switch launch title that is perfect for some multiplayer mayhem. Super Bomberman R is notable for being the first Bomberman game since the dissolution of series creators Hudson Soft in 2012. Super Bombarman R will be free to grab from Saturday 16th February until Friday 15th March.

On the previous generation side of things, Xbox 360 owners will be able to pick up Assassin’s Creed: Rogue from Friday 1st February until Friday 15th February, and the awesome Star Wars: Jedi Knight – Jedi Academy, which released on the original Xbox all the way back in 2003 (bloody hell, I feel old) will be available from Saturday 16th February until Thursday 28th February. Both games can be played through backwards compatibility on the Xbox One.

If you’re a fan of that nostalgic feeling, multiplayer mayhem, or great platformers, then this is going to be a great month for you.
