Battlefield V’s Firestorm mode launches on 25th March

Battlefield V’s foray into the battle royale genre, Firestorm, will finally release on Monday 25th March.

It comes as no surprise that Firestorm’s release is imminent following the recent leak of the tutorial video for the mode, but it’s always good to get official confirmation that the mode is less than two weeks away. That confirmation comes by way of a new, highly entertaining trailer for the mode that released earlier today. Check it out below:

The trailer captures all of the madness of battle royale shooters, with two squads parachuting in near to each other and making a mad rush into different houses to quickly find gear to tackle each other with. There are also plenty of vehicles on show, including a tractor and a helicopter, and we get a look at the titular Firestorm itself closing in on the map and flattening everything in its path.

Firestorm, which is being developed by Criterion, will be available to play in either solos, duos, or squads in games of 64 players. It’s going to have a tough task standing out from a crowd that’s already so heavily populated, but the fact that it contains the levels of destruction that Battlefield is famous for may be the defining factor that makes Firestorm a worthy adversary to its battle royale rivals.

Battlefield V’s Firestorm mode will launch on Monday 25th March.
