The first Exotic armor piece is available in The Division 2. Named the Dodge City Gunslinger Holster, this piece is aimed at agents running with pistol builds. Pistol builds have gained popularity in The Division 2 community, mostly due to the high amount of pistol damage that you’re able to obtain on gear, meaning certain pistols can hit very hard indeed. You can check out my best pistol weapons guide here for more information on the best pistols currently available in The Division 2.
Lets take a look at the Dodge City Gunslinger Holster and it’s unique talents:
Sleight of Hand –
Requires a Pistol equipped.
+20% Stability
+20% Accuracy
+40% Reload Speed
+400% Optimal Range
+20% Revolver Damage
Quick Draw – Swapping to your pistol reloads all weapons.
Perforator – Shots fired from your pistol penetrate enemies.
Pistol headshot kills grant +20% weapon damage and allows your primary and secondary weapons to penetrate enemies for 8 seconds. This duration is increased to 11 seconds when using a revolver.
As you can see, this thing is an absolute must for anyone using a pistol build. If you’re interested in obtaining the Dodge City Gunslinger Holster, then follow my step by step guide below. Be warned, as with most things in The Division 2, it’s a bit of a grind.
Step 1 – Visit the Blueprint Vendor
Head to the Base of Operations. Next, head over to the Recalibration Station and Crafting Bench where you will find the Blueprint vendor who will allow you to purchase Holster Intel: Go West, Young Agent. This intel provides information on the first task you need to complete. This task will come in the form of a Project, so check out the Projects tab and you’ll see it in the exotic coloured orange text.
Step 2 – Riverside Gas Station
The project hints heading to the westmost control point. That control point is the Riverside Gas Station. Clear the Control point at any level to be rewarded with the Fast Leather Belt component from the yellow cache inside the now unlocked supply room.
Turn the Project in and advance to the next stage of the project with updated objectives.
Step 3 – Control Point Clearing
The next three components you need can be found at Control Points that are being held by three different factions. Unlike the first project, you will need to complete these three Control Points at Level 4 difficulty. Complete tasks that are linked to the control points by lines on the map to increase the level of that particular Control Point.
Check the map to see which faction is in control of the points and clear out one of each at level 4 to progress. The order and the control point you pick doesn’t matter, it just needs to be level 4 and of the right faction.
Ornate Leather Holster – Hyena Level 4 Control Point
Inverted Leather Holster – True Sons Level 4 Control Point
Oiled Hammer Guards – Outcast Level 4 Control Point
Once again, turn in the project and receive the final project that requires one final component.
Step 4 – Showdown at High Noon
The last project is called Showdown at High Noon Saloon. Go to the bar just to the east of the White House, on the border with Downtown East. You can view the location on the Project objective list or by checking out the picture below.
The catch here is that you need to show up at the right time. Enter photo mode (which will display the in-game time) and time your journey so that you arrive at the bar for 12:00pm Noon! If you arrive at the right time, the Black Tusk will show up. Kill the Named Enemy and grab the last point of the Holster called “Rind”.
Again, return to the Base of Operations and turn in to be rewarded with the Blueprint and the parts needed to craft.
Step 5 – Craft
With all the parts and the blueprint in your possession, now all that’s left to do is craft the thing! Head to the crafting bench where along with the collected parts and blueprint you will need one Providence and one Petrov holster. If you don’t have these in your stash then just craft them from the bench using normal Division crafting materials.
Congratulations! You can now craft your awesome Dodge City Gunslinger Holster! I hope the grind wasn’t too difficult and the effort was worth it. Enjoy your Holster, agent.
