City of Brass is coming to the Nintendo Switch

City of Brass, the first-person rogue-lite from Uppercut Games, is coming to the Nintendo Switch on February 8th.

City of Brass—which released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in May 2018—is set in a procedurally generated, Arabian Nights-themed metropolis that features lots of corridors and courtyards filled with traps and enemies. Players are tasked with reaching the heart of the city to plunder fabled treasures, armed with a sword and a whip; the latter of which can be used either for battle, to disarm enemies, trip or stun them, to manipulate traps, or to swing to safety. As a rogue-lite, death means that you’ll have to start all over again from the city gates in a new procedurally-generated city, but hopefully this time you’ll be able to use your experience to get that little bit further.

City of Brass for the Nintendo Switch will come pre-packaged with all of the free updates that have been added to the game on other platforms since launch. That means Switch players will have instant access to the Blessings & Burdens system—which adds a number of modifiers that affect game difficulty, such as health and damage output—and a number of enhancements to the original game such as new relics, weapons, and enemies.

The extra three unlockable characters will also be present alongside the Fool and Traveler duo that players start with. Namely, the three unlockable characters are Brigand, a fast but frail knife-wielder; the spear-throwing Soldier; and Hellion, a genie that is strong but slow. According to Uppercut Games, each one will bring something different to the table and keep the experience fresh.

City of Brass will be available from the Nintendo eShop on February 8th 2019.
