Mojang have announced that a brand new Minecraft spin-off game, titled ‘Minecraft:Dungeons’, will be coming to PC in 2019. The announcement came during this weekend’s MineCon fan event, MineCon Earth 2018.
Set in the Minecraft world, this dungeon-crawler is set to be developed internally by a small and dedicated team within Mojang. This means we can expect a quality title and it’s something we’re very happy to hear.
Minecraft:Dungeons is described as “an all-new action-adventure game inspired by classic dungeon crawlers’. It will support up to four players and you’ll constantly discover new weapons and items that are unique to this new spin-off.
As well as new weapons and items, players can also expect to see new mobs, bosses and environments not yet seen in the Minecraft universe. These environments can be explored as part of an overarching quest that solo players or groups of players can complete to take on new bosses.
With traditional dungeon-crawlers being so combat oriented, we’re hoping that Minecraft:Dungeons might have a new found emphasis on combat. We think it would be great if Mojang found a way of making arguably the weakest aspect of Minecraft improved for Dungeons.
Minecraft: Dungeons is expected to launch next year on PC.
