Overwatch Halloween Terror Event to Start October 9th

The annual Overwatch Halloween Terror event is due to start next Tuesday (9th October) and it will run until the end of this month.

A smaller teaser trailer was released today on the official Overwatch Twitter page along with a cryptic riddle that read:

There’s a rumour among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors
Heroes, how will you prepare?

This will mean a return to the Dr. Junkenstein’s Revenge PvE event for a third year, as well as plenty of Halloween-themed skins, both new and returning, and voice lines and sprays for Overwatch’s cast of heroes. Some of these themed skins have been leaked according to a popular reddit thread, which suggest that Halloween Terror will introduce six new skins, with at least three of them being of Legendary standard. The hero’s included look likely to be: Wrecking Ball, Genji, Soldier: 76, Widowmaker, Winston and Zarya.

It’s a shame that we’re not going to see much in the way of new content with these themed events, with Blizzard confirming back in Overwatch’s September Developers Update that they won’t be making any major changes to existing came modes but instead focusing on bringing us more cosmetics. (Yawn)

Check out Overwatch between 9th – 31st October to see exactly what Blizzard has in store for players with this years Halloween Terror event.
