Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Patch 6.0 is now live, with Terry Bogard joining the roster of available fighters.
Bogard is the main character from SNK’s popular fighting series Fatal Fury, which first debuted on the Neo Geo arcade system back in 1991. He has a number of different moves and abilities, but his standout moves come when he reaches 100% damage. At this point, a “Go” symbol will appear above his meter, granting him the ability to pull off either Power Geyser or Buster Wolf. Both of these Super Special Moves require specific input combo’s, and they look like they may be quite tricky to pull off, but they could get you straight back into a fight which you’re about to lose. Check them out at around the 18 minute mark in the video below:
The update has also added a new King of Fighters stage which is also inspired by Fatal Fury, as well as a whole bunch of new Mii outfits. Nintendo has also added the ability for the host player to change rules without having to shut down a game, and the arena type “Elite Only” has been added. Additionally, the option for Random Battlefield and Omega Form has also been added to the stage settings. There are also some quality-of-life improvements and balance changes which include a tonne of adjustments to various characters, all of which you can read about here.
If you want access to Terry Bogard or the new King of Fighters stage then you’ll have to pay, as both of these are locked behind either the Ultimate Fighter’s Pass or Challenger Pack 4, which will set you back £22.49 or £5.39 respectively. All of the other changes in the patch are free to all players.
