Days Gone holds on to the top spot of the UK charts

Days Gone has retained its crown as the best-selling physical game in the UK, according to Chart-Track.

The PS4 exclusive debuted at the top of the charts last week, and has managed to hold on to the top spot despite suffering from a somewhat lukewarm reception from critics and players alike. Holding position is a theme which seems to run right through the majority of the top 10 this week, as Mortal Kombat 11, FIFA 19, and Red Dead Redemption 2 have also held position, sitting in second, third, and fourth respectively. Grand Theft Auto V has reappeared in the top 10 this week, jumping six places from last week into fifth, while sixth place is also occupied by a none mover from last week, as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe holds firm. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe climbs a couple of places into seventh, while The Division 2 drops three places into eighth. Forza Horizon 4 has also slipped a place into ninth, while, quite surprisingly, Anthem has reappeared in the top 10 despite BioWare’s recent announcement that the release of a number of key features has been delayed indefinitely.

World War Z, the zombie shooter that debuted at the top of the charts a couple of weeks back before slipping to tenth last week, has now dropped out of the charts altogether. That isn’t because nobody wants to buy it, but simply because Saber Interactive has seemingly underestimated just how successful the game was going to be; Push Square are reporting that finding a physical copy of the game in the UK is currently a near-impossible task, and Chart-Track only count physical copies sold, so this weeks chart backs up that report.
