The Division 2’s upcoming raid has been delayed

The Division 2’s first raidthe first raid in the series historywas scheduled to release on Thursday 25th April, but sadly that date has now been pushed back.

That disappointing news comes by way of a post on The Division 2’s website. The raid, which is titled Operation Dark Hours, is being added as part of Title Update 3, but Massive are pushing back the release of that update following feedback of Title Update 2. That feedback has made it clear to Massive that they need to “fine-tune the balance of our game and ensure the best possible player experience for everyone”, so Title Update 3 is being pushed back accordingly so that they can “make sure that we’ve properly tested the large amount of balance changes that are coming to both PvE and PvP and listen to your feedback about the changes before introducing the raid”.

What this all effectively means is that Operation Dark Hours has now been pushed back from it’s April 25th release date until “May 2019”. There’s no specific date as of yet, and Massive says that the final release date of Title Update 3 will now be based on “results from further testing and balancing of the game”. In other words, it’ll be time when it’s time. While this news will obviously come as a disappointment to a lot of players who were eagerly awaiting the raid, especially those who are geared up and ready for the raid already, we would much rather Massive focus on getting the balance changes right first so that the game doesn’t become a frustrating experience.

Alongside the news, Massive also reaffirmed their recent announcement that they’ll be opening a Public Test Server for the game on PC to allow them to “test further updates and balance changes before they are released”. The PTS is available now through Uplay, and getting involved will allow you to check out the new fixes and features that are coming in Title Update 3. Don’t get too excited though – Operation Dark Hours will not be playable on the PTS.
