Ash Williams, better known as Ash from Evil Dead, will soon be available as a playable character in Dead by Daylight.
Ash will be joining numerous other famous faces of horror in the online multiplayer game, which already boasts a roster of playable characters that includes the likes of Laurie Strode (Halloween), David Tapp (Saw), Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), and Michael Myers (Halloween). Dead by Daylight takes the form of 1vs4 multiplayer matches in which one player assumes the role of a Killer while the other four take on the role of a Survivor who must elude their fearsome foe and survive the night.
Ash will be joining the ranks of the Survivors and will be voiced by the cult icon that is Bruce Campbell, who has played Ash for what seems like his entire career. He most recently played Ash in the now-cancelled series Ash vs Evil Dead, which was on our screens from 2015-2018. Campbell himself announced the news to us in the trailer which you can watch below, and we also get the briefest of glimpses at Ash in action in the game:
Although Ash has only just been officially confirmed, his imminent arrival will come as no shock to fans of the game – his unique survivor perks, namely Flip-Flop, Buckle Up, and Mettle of Man, leaked earlier this month, signifying his upcoming addition.
Ash will become available in Dead by Daylight from Tuesday 2nd April. Dead by Daylight is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and a Nintendo Switch port is scheduled to release later this year.
