The Yakuza Remastered Collection has been announced

Sega has announced The Yakuza Remastered Collection, a package that brings together Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 and remasters them all for a Western release on PS4.

The revamps will bump all games up to full 1080p resolution and 60fps, and Sega’s Director of Production, Sam Mullen, confirmed on Twitter that all of the games will feature “repolished localization” and will come with all of their content. Each game will release digitally over time; Yakuza 3 is available right now, Yakuza 4 is coming on Tuesday 29th October, and Yakuza 5 will arrive on Tuesday 11th February 2020.

On top of that, all of the scripts have been “reviewed, revised, and even rewritten in some cases” for the English translation, and content that was previously cut for the Western releases of each game have been re-added. That means that the likes of Mahjong, Shogi, Massage Parlor, Cabaret minigames, and a collection of Substories will now be available in a Western version of Yakuza 3 for the first time. Sega says that they’ve also made a number of quality-of-life changes for each release, which include a Substory tracker on your map and the ability to toggle between English and Japanese lyrics during Karaoke. Game changer.

Once each game has been released digitally on their own, a “very limited” packaged version that contains all three together will be released in physical form. The two-disc set will feature Yakuza 3 and 4 on one disc and Yakuza 5 on the other, and it will also come with a collectible PS3 case for Yakuza 5, which was previously only available in digital form. Check it out below.

The remastered version of Yakuza 3 is available to purchase right now.
