Star Wars Battlefront II’s Rise of Skywalker update is live now

Star Wars Battlefront II’s Rise of Skywalker update is now live on all platforms, just in time for ultimate movie cash-in potential.

As part of the update, players will get access to a currently-unnamed jungle planet where players will have “plenty of cover in the form of thick vegetation”, while “caves offer the opportunity for some great close combat gameplay”. The new planet will arrive in both Co-Op and Heroes Vs Villains as part of the update, before being added to Instant Action and Capital Supremacy in January 2020. It’s worth noting that, although this update is live now, the new map won’t enter rotation until Friday 20th December.

As for what’s available now, the update adds four new reinforcements to the game, namely the Sith Trooper and the First Order Jet Trooper on the Dark Side and the Caphex Spy and the Ovissian Gunner on the Resistance side. There are also three new character appearances – Kylo Ren is getting his Supreme Leader look, Finn is getting a Resistance Hero costume, while Rey is getting her Jedi outfit. All three appearances are of the Epic classification and are available for either 40,000 Credits or 1,000 Crystals, unless you own the Celebration Edition of the game, in which case you will get all three automatically.

Want a badass trailer that will get you pumped up for some Star Wars action? No problem:

The update also adds Co-Op for Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller Base, and there are also a whole host of quality-of-life changes and bug fixes. You can read a full list of all of the changes in the patch notes here.

Star Wars Battlefront II’s Rise of Skywalker update is available right now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
