Sega Mega Drive Classics Coming to Switch

Sega has made some incredible games. I remember sitting in my room playing Golden Axe for hours on end, I even played my Mega Drive when newer consoles were released, that’s how much I loved it – and now I will be able to play them on the go on the Nintendo Switch. Great.

There’s no official release date for the game yet, but Sehasave said it should be dropping some time in Winter, just in time for Christmas. How convenient…

There will be over 50 titles in the Mega Drive Classics game including fan favourites such as Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Sonic. This bundle is already available on the PS4 and Xbox so it’s not exactly surprising that it’s coming to Switch, I mean, you could probably run these games on your calculator – but the Switch will have one cool feature that is lacking from other versions of the game and that is local co-op; this is on top of the features currently on the other consoles, such as online multiplayer, rewind, save states and achievements.

Nintendo has been on a roll with the Switch in the last couple of months with games such as Diablo 3, Fortnite and Civilization 6 all being confirmed for the console, as well as the titles announced at Nintendo Direct which includes our favourite ‘Animal Crossing’.
