Rockstar has released a new update for Red Dead Online, adding a new Showdown mode, new clothing items, and offering XP bonuses on Ability Cards.
The new Showdown mode is called Up in Smoke, which tasks players with delivering an explosive package to the enemies base to destroy it one bit at a time. You’ll have to deliver a number of packages until the enemies base is completely destroyed, and the first team to flatten the enemy base wins.

Aside from the new mode, there are also a number of new clothing options available at the Wheeler and Rawson and Co. Catalogue to keep you looking dapper, namely the Winter Shotgun Coat, Benbow Jacket, Darned Stockings, and Manteca Hat. Rockstar has also activated a time-limited XP boost for Ability Cards, giving you a 30% XP increase for this week which should allow you to reach the next tier faster. Rockstar says that some of these cards will come in very handy in the new mode, saying “Ability Cards like To Fight Another Day, Strange Medicine and Slippery Bastard can all come in handy in Up in Smoke, activate them while you’re fighting your way to deliver an explosive package behind enemy lines.”
