The latest update for Red Dead Online is now live, adding a batch of new clothing and accessories and a new Showdown mode known as Spoils of War.
Spoils of War will support up to 16 players and will be playable in numerous locations including the likes of Fort Mercer and Valentine. In Spoils of War, teams will be tasked with stealing loot from the enemy teams base while simultaneously defending their own stash, with the team that steals the most loot at the end of the match declared the winner. It’s effectively a slightly different spin on Capture The Flag with a lot more cowboys.
As an added bonus, anybody that wins a game of Spoils of War will be rewarded with eight Dynamite Arrows courtesy of Rockstar, and they’re also offering out an extra 20% XP boost for all Showdown modes this week. Such generous people.
Alongside the new mode there’s some good news for those who prefer to play dress-up, as “sellers have received their first shipments of rare clothing”, which basically means that there are some new clothing items available for a limited time. According to Rockstar, the items are as follows:
- The Tasman Outfit (Male only)
- The Danube Outfit (Female only)
- Tied Pants
- Hitched Skirt (Female only)
- Winter Shotgun Coat
- Gardenia Hat
- Squat Stovepipe Top Hat
Rockstar says that they will continue to improve Catalogue functionality and organization, and they will keep adding new items with “unique flair”, so the more flamboyant players among us should have plenty to look forward to.
