The biggest update since the ‘Next’ update has just been released for No Man’s Sky on all platforms.
This update, titled ‘The Abyss’, focuses heavily on underwater gameplay. The update will include a submarine called the Nautilon, as well as an overhaul of the underwater visuals. There’s also new fauna and flora, as well as sunken shipwrecks and ancient underwater buildings for you to scavenge.
However, one of the most exciting features of the update (for me at least), is that you now have the ability to build underwater, which sounds awesome, and I can’t wait to try it out. If you’ve ever had your base pillaged by other players then this will be a godsend, as who really has the time to check every lake for a base?
As well as the new content, there is also a new narrative to uncover, named Dreams of the Deep.
This is a good update for No Man’s Sky; I’ve always thought the bodies of water in the game were nothing more than an annoyance to traverse, but at least now there’s something to see. You can view the full trailer for the update below:
As a true gamer, I’m always wanting more, so I can’t wait to see what the next update will be for No Man’s Sky. I honestly feel like the game has the potential to be amazing; however, there’s still not enough to do on the planets and there’s not enough variety in the gameplay. If I could choose just two new features to add it would be an auction house—and by that I mean a live auction house like World of Warcraft—and the addition of manually built planets that are packed with cities, NPC’s, and various things to do like minigames or something of the sort.
It’s a shame I’m not a game developer really, isn’t it?
