Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on Friday 19th July.
That means that the game will launch almost three months after the release of Avengers: Endgame, which I have to admit slightly surprises me. When it was first announced that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 would release in Summer 2019, I expected it to be a bit closer to Endgame’s release for ultimate cash-in potential, although the film is likely to have a long run at the cinema, so July may not be too late.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is being developed by Team Ninja, the legends behind Ninja Gaiden, and will be published by Nintendo themselves. The Black Order will see players (in up to four player co-op action) taking on Thanos, as they do battle for the “the limitless power of the Infinity Gauntlet, one Stone at a time.” Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Check out some more details for the game in the video below:
I still think that securing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order—which is the first entry in the series in almost a decade—as a Switch exclusive was a tremendous scoop for Nintendo due to the phenomenal success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the imminent arrival of Avengers: Endgame. The film is sure to get players in the mood for some superhero-based action, and The Black Order seems like the perfect option.
