Kabal and D’Vorah added to Mortal Kombat 11’s roster

Two more fighters have been confirmed as returning for Mortal Kombat 11, namely Kabal and D’Vorah.

Kabal is a series staple, having been introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 way back in 1995. He has appeared in numerous games since then, but this will mark the first time he’s been available as a playable character since 2011’s Mortal Kombat, as he only appeared as an NPC in 2015’s Mortal Kombat X. To announce Kabal’s inclusion, developer NetherRealm released a reveal trailer showing Kabal sporting his trademark respiratory mask and wielding his famous hookblades. As you would expect with Mortal Kombat, the trailer is as brutal as ever, and his drag-your-face-across-the-floor-until-your-eyeballs-pop-out fatality may be the most gruesome one yet. If you’re not involved in any kind of debate about violence in video games, you can check out the trailer below:

D’Vorah, meanwhile, was a playable character in Mortal Kombat X, which marked her first appearance in the series. Her inclusion was announced during the latest episode of Inside Xbox, so there’s no footage of her in action yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as a reveal trailer for the insect-inside-a-human-body surfaces.

Mortal Kombat 11 looks as brutal as ever and then some, almost as if the violence and gore has been turned up to eleven (get it?), so if you’re a bloodthirsty maniac then you can look forward to the games release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Tuesday 23rd April. Nintendo Switch players will have to wait a little bit longer (which, rather unfairly, seems to be the case quite often), with their version arriving in May.
