To absolutely nobodies surprise—not least because of the leak earlier today—Blizzard has confirmed thatHearthstones newest expansion will be titled Rastakhan’s Rumble, and it will be a Troll-themed set consisting of 135 new cards. The expansion will launch on December 4th.
The announcement was made today during BlizzCon’s opening ceremony, which included a cinematic trailer which can be viewed below.
A new keyword called ‘Overkill’ will be introduced with the new set. Overkill will activate when players do more damage than what’s needed to kill a minion.
A card called ‘Sharkfin Fan’ was also revealed, which seems to have pretty good synergy with Sul’thraze’s Overkill keyword.
Spirit cards will be introduced to each class. These cards will all feature stealth for one turn and will have 0/3 stats. Only the Rogue Spirit card has been revealed at this time, this card is named ‘Spirit of the Shark’ and will feature a doubling effect on Combo and Battlecry cards.
Each class will also have a legendary minion called a Loa.
“The Loa are incredibly powerful primal gods that have been figures of worship for thousands of years in troll culture. In Rastakhan’s Rumble, each Loa is the patron of a Rumble team, and they carefully pick mighty gladiators who best embody their spiritual essence.”
“Loa are no passive mascots, they are legendary minions who bring their ancient power to the fray right alongside their teammates!”, reads Hearthstones official page.
The Paladin Loa was revealed and can be viewed below.
A new single player PvE experience called Rumble Run will also be playable soon after the launch of Rastakhan’s Rumble, with more details due to be released soon.
Two pre-purchase bundles are now available to pre-load onto your Hearthstone account ready for the launch of the expansion on December 4th.
‘Rastakhan’s Rumble’ will get you 50 Rastakhan’s Rumble card packs, a Ready to Rumble card back, and the new Shaman Hero: King Rastakhan, with ‘The Challenger’s Bundle’ offering 17 Rastakhan’s Rumble card packs and the Ready to Rumble card back.
