Giga Wrecker Alt heading to consoles

Game Freak, developers of the world-renowned Pokémon franchise, is bringing it’s 2D puzzle-platformer Giga Wrecker to consoles later this year.

Rising Star Games announced today that they will publish Giga Wrecker Alt, which is an updated version of the original Giga Wrecker that was launched on PC in 2017. The game will be released digitally on all platforms with Limited Run Games releasing physical editions on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Check out the announcement trailer for Giga Wrecker Alt below:

Giga Wrecker Alt will feature 20 new campaign puzzle stages, a new non-playable companion character aimed to assist struggling players, an ironman mode (which adds x5 damage for those gamers in need of a new challenge), and an overhaul to the localization.

In Giga Wrecker you play as Reika, a girl who uses her ARCHE (Arms Creating and Handling Effect) abilities to create weapons and tools using debris from destroyed surroundings. These constructed weapons and tools can be used to solve puzzles, crush enemies and create paths to hard-to-reach areas.

Giga Wreckers 2017 launch went somewhat under the radar, with barely any reviews or information coming from the major gaming sites. In fact, the game currently only has six critic reviews on metacritic and no Wikipedia page.

No set release date has yet been given for Giga Wrecker Alt, with Game Freaks no doubt hoping that the new console version makes more noise than it’s PC original.
