As the Fallout 76 private beta approaches, Bethesda have announced that the PC version of both the beta and the full game will only be available via Bethesda.net.
An answer to one of the questions in the test builds FAQ reads “Both the B.E.T.A. and the game will be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net only)”
This is another blow for Steam, as more and more companies seem to be making their new titles available exclusively on their own launchers. Steam is still a massive retailer though, and older editions in the Fallout series still sell on the digital retailers platform, so it would be a surprise if Fallout 76 didn’t come to Steam somewhere down the road.
The good news for people that are participating in the B.E.T.A. is that any progress made in the test version will carry over to the full game when that releases on November 14th 2018.
