Five new games are heading to the Xbox Game Pass lineup this October, with the awesome Dishonored 2 headlining.
On Thursday 3rd October, Dishonored 2—the follow-up to Arkane Studio’s award-winning, first-person action blockbuster, Dishonored—will be joining the ever-growing list of triple-A games on the Game Pass.
Thursday 10th October will see two games added to the service. The first will be popular co-op third-person shooter and the spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, World War Z. World War Z was released back in April and is loosely based on the 2006 book of the same name. The game is fantastic with 3 friends and is definitely worthy of a play through – developers Saber Interactive recently revealed the road map for the games second season of content, so there’s plenty for players to look forward to moving forward.
The second game being added on Thursday 10th October will be open-world platformer Yooka-Laylee. Developed by Playtonic Games—who are a group of former Rare personnel—Yooka-Laylee was quickly compared to the Banjo-Kazooie series. It never quite reached the highs of the Rare classic, but was still well received by gamers and critics alike who generally agreed that the game recaptured the feel of classic 3D-platformers.
Then, on Thursday 17th October, everyone’s favourite Fallout game, Fallout: New Vegas, will be added to the Game Pass. If you’ve not yet played New Vegas then now’s your chance, you won’t regret it! Also released on Thursday 17th October is original Xbox title Panzer Dragoon Orta and indie puzzle adventure Felix the Reaper, which is a day one premiere. Talking of day one releases. October will also see the launch of Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds, which is coming straight to Game Pass on launch day, which is Friday 25th October.
It’s a big month for the Game Pass, especially given the impending release of Google Stadia and the just-announced price cuts to the PlayStation Now service. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft respond with any new deals or savings for their service.
