Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has zoomed straight to the top of the UK sales charts, overtaking all other competitors to claim first place in the chart for the week ending Saturday 22nd June.
It’s hardly surprising news, the original Crash Team Racing—which is an unbelievable 20 years old in a few months—is very warmly remembered, and the remake has received great reviews since its release on Friday. Regardless, it’s still a very impressive start for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, which becomes both the second biggest launch for a Crash Bandicoot game and the third biggest physical launch of the year behind Days Gone and Resident Evil 2 Remake. As always, note the word physical launch, as Chart-Track only keeps a tab on the number of physical copies sold.
Elsewhere in the physical sales chart, last weeks top title FIFA 19 drops into second to make way for CTR, while Forza Horizon 4 has gained a place into third. PS4 exclusive Days Gone, which holds the record for the most successful physical sales launch of the year so far, drops a couple of places into fourth, and Red Dead Redemption 2 holds position in fifth. Battlefield V has also held firm in sixth, and ever-present Grand Theft Auto V has climbed two places into seventh.
Not wanting to be forgotten to the likes of CTR, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has reappeared in the top ten in eighth position, and The Division 2 also reappears, taking a massive fifteen place jump up the charts into ninth. Anthem rounds out the top ten, dropping down two positions from last week.
Looking further down the charts, Watch Dogs 2 has had a notable climb week-on-week from 27th into 14th, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy also surges from 36th to 18th. Marvel’s Spider-Man suffers a notable drop as it falls to 19th place following a third place finish last week.
