Count Dooku is coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2

Count Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus (lol anus), is coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 later this month, EA has announced.

Count Dooku will be added to the roster of playable Heroes on January 23rd and he will also get a second cosmetic appearance which will be titled Dark Ritual. There will also be a new skin for Republic Clone Army, which will be called Coruscant Guard. EA hasn’t revealed the appearance of either of these skins, but given that all of Battlefront 2’s recent updates have been Clone Wars-themed then you can be pretty sure that the new skins will follow suit.

Indeed, EA are continuing the trend of using voice actors from The Clone Wars animated series for their respective characters in Battlefront 2 – Corey Burton will be voicing Count Dooku in Battlefront 2 as he does in The Clone Wars, joining his colleagues Matthew Wood, James Arnold Taylor, and Matt Lanter, who voice General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker respectively. Speaking of Anakin Skywalker, he’ll be joining the roster of heroes in Battlefront 2 next month. The recent Clone Wars-themed updates are no surprise following the news that The Clone Wars is to get a surprise seventh and final season at some point in 2019.

Following the introduction of Count Dooku on January 23rd there will be a Battle Point Event from January 25th-January 27th, during which time Heroes will be available for half of their usual Battle Point cost as long as you’re playing Galactic Assault on a map that’s specific to that Hero’s era. In terms of Count Dooku, that means you’ll be able to get him for half of his Battle Point cost on Prequel-era maps such as Kamino or Theed. Count Dooku was, of course, prominent in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, where he was played by the late, great, Christopher Lee.

As well as the impending introduction of Count Dooku there are also some Triple XP weekends to look forward to, and you can read all about them here.
