Bayonetta and Vanquish are coming to Xbox One and PS4 in remastered form

Bayonetta and Vanquish are both being remastered for release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Sega has confirmed.

Developed by PlatinumGames, both games are being snazzed up with support for 4K resolution and 60 FPS on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X in celebration of their 10th anniversary. Releasing on Tuesday 18th February 2020, both games will be available to buy individually for $24.99 or as part of the 10th Anniversary Bundle for $39.99. The physical edition of the bundle will come in a SteelBook case featuring new artwork – how fancy.

Bayonetta, which originally released in the west in January 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360, is a fast-paced hack and slash action game which received critical acclaim at launch, with particular praise being directed at its combat and visual style. Vanquish, meanwhile, is a similarly-fast-paced third-person shooter which also picked up good reviews without reaching the same heights as Bayonetta, with drawbacks such as a short campaign and dodgy story being outweighed by its balls-to-the-wall action. Also launching for Xbox 360 and PS3, Vanquish originally released in October 2010.

First word of the remasters actually broke a few days ago, when both remasters were listed for sale on the Microsoft store, but today is the first day that Sega has officially confirmed the rumours. Want a trailer? No problem.
