Batman crossover is now live in Fortnite

The Batman crossover has launched and is now live in Fortnite.

Check out the short announcement trailer below:

To help celebrate the 80th anniversary of our caped crusader, a Batman crossover event has landed in Fortnite. This event will last until Sunday 6th October and has transformed the Tilted Town into a Fortnite version of Gotham City.

Of-course, no crossover event would be complete without new skins, weapons, and items, and the Batman theme doesn’t disappoint. New Super Hero toys include the Batman Grapnel Gun and Explosive Batarang.

The Batman Grapnel Gun can be found from Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Llamas. The Gun comes loaded with 10 charges and consumes a charge each time the player is launched. To launch, all you need to do is impact something in the games environment, you will then be launched in a flat arc towards the point of impact. If that doesn’t sound cool enough, players will also deploy the Bat Cape at the apex of the launch. The Cape acts like any other glider, allowing players to travel great distances around the map.

The Explosive Batarang can also be found from Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Llamas, dropping in stacks of 5 to a max of 10. This consumable can be thrown and will then home in on it’s targets, causing 50 damage to players and 200 damage to the environment. What’s cool is that any Batarang that has impacted the environment can be picked up again by you or an ally – let’s hope that doesn’t cause any arguments between team mates.

The new Gotham City POI will allow players to have unlimited Gilder redeploys, meaning everyone should feel just like a real Super Hero. Epic has noted in their patch notes that the final circle won’t be occurring in Gotham, or in Moisty Palms,
Greasy Grove, Retail Row, or Pressure Plant.

The event will also bring some awesome new cosmetics to the game via the Batman Caped Crusader Pack. This pack will include a Batman suit, Batman Comic Book Outfit, and The Dark Knight Movie Outfit. Also available in the store is a Catwoman outfit!

Finally, new heroic Challenges are available until October 1st. Completing these Challenges will reward you with cool items from the Welcome to Gotham City Challenge Bundle. One such item is the Catwing Gilder, which can be seen in the picture below.
