Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey’s February Update brings New Game Plus

A few days ago I promised you more details on the upcoming New Game Plus mode in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, so today I’m staying true to my word.

Title Update 1.14, which is slated for release “later this month”, will bring New Game Plus with it, and, as expected, it will allow players to start a new game while keeping your gear, upgrades, abilities, and mounts from your previous play through. Yes, this does literally just give you the opportunity to play the game again (which you can do anyway) but at least you can keep all your fancy stuff for the entirety, and maybe you can make a few different choices this time around to see some different story paths. This may be obvious, but you do need to have finished the main story arc to access New Game Plus.

Also in the update, the game is getting another level cap increase, with the cap being lifted all the way up to Level 99. This new level cap will give you access to three additional Engraving tiers and an additional set of Ship improvements. You’ll also be able to get around Greece a bit quicker and easier, as another 22 Fast Travel points are also being added with the update. There are also two new tiers to the Mercenary Ladder, and two new cosmetic DLC packs known as the Wild Boar Pack and the Shark Pack will also be available, containing new gear sets, mounts, and legendary weapons.

If you’re more of a photographer than a battler then fear not, as the update will also add the ability to add frames to your photo mode pictures for some added fanciness. Players will have access to 10 frames, including a Spartan theme, Athenian theme, and the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey logo and crest. The third round of the Photo Mode Contest, themed as Winter in Greece, will also take place between February 21st and February 28th, giving players the chance to win a Spartan Collector’s Edition of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey if their picture is impressive enough.

But before all of that, the next chapter of The Lost Tales of Greece is available right now. Titled “A Brother’s Seduction”, this chapter sees the player attempt to help two brothers deal with their father’s recent passing, which leaves you smack bang in the middle of a family drama. To access The Lost Tales of Greece you’ll need to have reached Chapter 5 in the games main path.

As always, you can read the full notes for the update here.
