Yakuza Zero

Yakuza Zero – £8.99 at PlayStation.Store

It seems that weekend deals are here to stay. Barely a Friday goes past without something decent being offered on one of the many online game stores, and this weekend is no exception, with the fantastic Yakuza Zero on sale on the PlayStation Store.

Yakuza Zero is an action-adventure game developed and published by Sega that acts as a prequel to the awesome Yakuza series. The game takes place at the end of 1988, and is set in an open-world recreation of Tokyo’s Kabukichō and Osaka’s Dōtonbori.

‘The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0. Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.’

The Yakuza series is known for its wacky side-quests, and Zero is no exception. Side quests will see you go from playing baseball to taking part in underground fight-clubs. Combat is also top-draw, with various fighting styles to master. New to Yakuza Zero is the addition of fighting styles for both Kiryu and Majima, and these can be also be switched in the middle of battle.

If combat isn’t always your thing, why not try your hand at playing one of the several mini games that Yakuza has to offer, including fully playable versions of Sega arcade games such as Out Run, Super Hang-On, Space Harrier and Fantasy Zone.

If any of that sounds interesting (how can it not?) then you have until midnight on Monday 4th February to pick it up at the discounted price of £8.99, that’s 43% off of the normal price for ‘PlayStation Hits’ games. We think it’s more than worth a pick up for under a tenner, so if you haven’t already played it, do yourself a favor and add Yakuza Zero to your collection.
